Frank “Ghost” Martin
Visual Identity / Logo Design
Frank “Ghost” Martin is a professional boxer from Detroit, Michigan. Since starting his career in 2017, he’s racked up 18 wins and most recently fought the WBA lightweight champion, Gervonta “Tank” Davis at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I connected with Frank through Michael Ledo and Charles Gaston of RISE Advisors, an athlete enterprise office representing Frank. This project's scope was to create a unique “FM” monogram and a “Ghost” word mark leading up to his lightweight title fight.

Strategy & Execution
To create unique logo marks for Frank, I talked with the RISE Advisors team about key influences and sources of inspiration. Considering brands, emotions, experiences, real-world applications, and other contributing factors, we started the design phase with the proper information we knew would accurately represent Frank, while driving the creative process in the right direction.
Throughout the project we went through several concepts and iterations, eventually landing on the marks shown. We wanted to create a mark that defines Frank and his personality while focusing on legibility and creating an aesthetically pleasing shape.
The Reveal
Frank’s branding was released via social media before his WBA World Title fight with Gervonta “Tank” Davis on June 15, 2024. Logo marks were featured on Frank’s profile photo and apparel in various social posts through photographs and videos. Eventually, this led to merchandise available through Frank’s website (frankmartinofficial.com).
The following videos showcase the individual logo marks in a promotional pre-fight docuseries, a custom pendant worn by Frank during the entrance of his fight, and shirts worn by Frank’s team.
Thank You
Thanks for checking out my work, and a big thank you to Frank Martin, Michael Ledo, Charles Gaston, and the RISE Advisors team for trusting me with this project. Everyone was engaged, communicative, and detail-oriented as we worked through concepts, ultimately landing on the logos and marks showcased above. I look forward to Frank’s next fight and following his amazing career.
