Started in January of 2020, Spout has interviewed the "who's who" of the entertainment world, including guests such as: Harry Styles, BTS, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, and more.
Spout is owned by Gulfstream Studios and has a handful of hosts including: Tamara Dhia (Entertainment Correspondent), Erik Zachary (Former MTV Host), Josh Brubaker (TikTok star/Netflix "The Circle"), and Nick Major (Content Creator).
With over 1 million streams and 20k followers on social media, Spout is one of the premiere entertainment podcasts in the world.
Inspiration & Thought Process
The name “Spout” originates from “famous people spouting off about more than what they’re famous for”. However, there are also some inclusions of water droplet sounds to censor profanity, as well as being used in sounders and bumpers throughout each episode.
To combine these interpretations, I designed a mark that implies a water droplet inside a half open speech bubble. The color scheme was chosen to target a demographic that listens to Top 40 music and there's a subtle implication of waves in the navy blue background pattern.
